I have to say that I absolutely love shooting in BC, and the Okanagan is truly one of the remarkable locations. Most of us Canadians can agree that BC it really is a stunning province filled with some amazing natural wonders and the Okanagan is a special place as I truly feel like it’s a little taste of Mexico in Canada. It has Fun, sun, water and warm weather making it one of our countries most desirable destinations.
I get to shoot about one or two weddings a year in Kelowna and it’s always my goal to try and do something very different each time I’m there. That goes for every place I shoot of course but the Okanagan is really a unique place and I hope that you can see by the landscape in these images that I took a very new approach to the area and tried to create a very dramatic feel.
Felicia and Lee got married atop the terrace at the Hotel Eldorado and I have to say that it was an an amazing spot over looking the lake. In fact every part of their day was fantastic. We found ourselves at the famous Summerhill Pyramid Winery for some wedding portraits and after that I took them to a cool location I scouted the day before in a remote part of the area. After they danced the night away with close family and friends we woke the next day to do a trash the dress or day after session outside of Vernon. It was a fantastic shoot filled with mud and there’s nothing like a torrential downpour to spice up the session.
I can’t thank you both enough for everything and I’m so honoured to have been a part of your wedding. Enjoy these special moments from your day!
A special thank you goes out to Leona and the staff from the Hotel Eldorado and to Karla Rosalin for shooting alongside me and laughing at my jokes! Karla is a wonderful photographer and a wonderful person, check out her site!
