I’ve known Annik for many years and I was so very proud and honoured to be a part of her and James’ wedding earlier this summer. It was a wonderful, laugh filled and happy occasion and just watching these two and their great friends together was a true reminder of what I love most about my profession. Where else can a guy wake up in the morning, strap on his camera gear and spend time with people having so much fun. I am a very lucky person.
Annik and James both reside in Florida and made the long trip up to Edmonton to have the wedding. It always makes me happy watching people that have never been to Alberta give such praise. I often heard from James’ brother and other friends how pleased they were with their trip here, commenting on how nice everyone had been to them and how beautiful our province is. It’s a great reminder of what many of feel about where they came from, like California and Florida. Each place is so unique and special and I think we forget all too often that home is where you make it and we all have many things to enjoy in our own backyard.
Annik and James were married in front of many friends at the Arts Building on the University of Alberta Campus and then had a really creative and fun reception at the Matrix Hotel. I was also so lucky to work with Jennifer Bergman. If you haven’t had the chance to see her site or meet her please do, she’s a wonderful person and an incredible event planner.
