I’m very excited to post this recent family session. As many of you have known for some time I took a hiatus from family sessions to focus on Weddings and a few other projects. I rattled my brain for the last year thinking of ways to reinvigorate a family session. As I continue to try my best and add fashion and art into my wedding photography I thought to myself why can’t I do this with family sessions. A more editorial family session, a more fashion forward family session, a family session that revolve around your life at home and how you really feel about your day with your kids. This isn’t a new concept of course, but it’s new for me and I want to bring both my style to the idea and also bridge the gap between editorial and real life.
With the Dirksen family they gave me the opportunity to bring their real life, how they feel about their family, and poke a little fun at themselves. I think this a very freeing experience for me and for them. As a father of two myself I know that we truly need to capture family moments as much as possible, our little ones grow far to fast for my liking.
Ashley and Adam welcomed me into their stunning home and let me shoot around most of the afternoon. They told me that they treat their little man like a prince, so we thought let’s run with that idea. Prince Cole!
