There is something timeless about a wedding at the Fairmont Banff Springs. The stone castle sitting in the middle of the Rocky Mountains has a way of making every wedding feel both intimate and grand at the same time.
Tiffany and Chris chose June for their celebration, when the Bow Valley is lush and green and the long mountain evenings stretch late into the night. Their wedding day was a beautiful mix of classic elegance, mountain atmosphere, and quiet moments shared with the people who matter most.
From the start of the day, the hotel felt alive with anticipation. The historic hallways of the Banff Springs offer endless pockets of beautiful light and architecture, and Tiffany looked absolutely incredible as she stepped into her dress surrounded by the soft glow of the castle interior.
One of the things I love about photographing weddings here is how many incredible portrait locations are just steps away. The glass conservatory, the sweeping staircases, The Rundle Lounge, Mount Stephen Hall and the stone archways all provide these timeless backdrops that never go out of style.
Tiffany and Chris slipped into those spaces together so naturally — relaxed, smiling, completely present with each other.
A Ceremony in the Castle and Portraits in the Mountains
Their ceremony plans had originally been set outdoors overlooking the mountains on the terrace, but Banff has a way of writing its own story sometimes. A sudden shift in the weather meant the ceremony moved indoors at the last minute.
It turned out to be absolutely perfect.
After the ceremony the rain departed and we stepped outside for portraits. We explored the hotel grounds and nearby viewpoints, capturing those incredible mountain backdrops that make Banff so special.
Moments like these are often the most memorable — when the weather shifts, the light changes, and everything comes together in a way you couldn’t have planned.
